Zalakaros’s greatest treasure is its unique thermal water with its mineral composition, which has so far been intended solely for bathing, the comfort, healing, and relaxation of bath guests, but now it also nourishes an artificially created lake: this is the thermal lake. The Zalakaros Thermal Lake and Eco Park was created for the purpose of utilizing the runoff water from the Zalakaros Bath, which serves not only as a park offering wonderful views but also as a visitor center, recreational, and conditioning park.

One of the main attractions of Zalakaros offers great entertainment opportunities for all ages, enriching the city’s tourism offerings and the palette of nearby active leisure programs.

The first stop of the thermal lake is the unique reception building, which is accompanied by a 15-meter-high lookout tower offering beautiful views of the lake, the surrounding forest, and the entire complex. The most outstanding element of the area is the 21-meter-high slide tower, which with its nearly 75 meters in length is unique in Hungary. Next to the reception building is the pavilion of sounds, where visitors can learn about sounds in a playful way and observe changes in their wavelengths. Those feeling brave enough can even learn the science of water walking on the water treadle built on the thermal lake.

A romantic bridge connects the two shores of the lake, and from the island in the middle, we can enjoy a wonderful panorama. In the meditation pavilion of lights, we can witness a special light show, while on the southern edge of the lake, we can walk along a nature trail through the surrounding forest, learning more about local protected plants with the help of information boards. In addition to the playground, labyrinth, a outdoor fitness park also ensures carefree leisure time on the lakeshore.
